About the Role
The Investment Consultant role shall ensure the effective management of the company's investment funds by assisting in delivering investment solutions and facilitating fund manager oversight.
The Investment Consultant shall endeavor in contributing to the company’s income targets and all other strategic goals and, in the process, shall:
- Ensure that all investment management decisions, activities, and processes will result in the company sustainably achieving its income targets and strategic goals.
- Facilitate onboarding of new investment outlets, funds, and financial instruments such as but not limited to financial derivatives.
- Represent the investment management function in the preparation of the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) review to ensure that mandates are still aligned with company strategy.
- Liaise with asset managers and provide oversight in the conduct of their fund management activities.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all investment activities are compliant with internal standards set out for Investment Management as well as with local regulations
Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements
Minimum Job Requirements
- Education & Credentials: College graduate, preferably in Economics, Finance, Management, Accounting, Mathematics, or Statistics. Professional certifications: (completed and ongoing) certification programs such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Treasury Certification Program (TCP), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) or master’s degree in finance or other related disciplines. Master's degree in Finance or related fields are considered an advantage.
- Relevant Experience: At least 5 years of experience in investments, asset management, risk management, or related financial market-facing roles.
- Financial Markets Expertise: Strong working knowledge of local and global financial markets, including familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Core Competencies: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, critical and independent thinking, continuous learning mindset, effective communication with management stakeholders, and proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
