Aftercare Assistants

. Our assistants engage children in play-based learning experiences through movement, music, hands-on activities, and imaginative play. Extended Care staff are responsible for providing care and supervision to children after the school day ends. Their primary responsibility is ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive development of the children in their care.

Essential Functions

Understands, supports, and implements the school's philosophy.

Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with state licensing rules and regulations.

Communicates clearly and empathetically with students, parents, and coworkers.

Enthusiastically and warmly greets and engages children.

Demonstrates strong organizational skills in the classroom.

Maintains confidentiality regarding students, their families, and other employees.

Ensures the safety and active supervision of students at all times.

Works collaboratively with teachers, staff, and school administration.

Is comfortable working in a faith-based environment.

Is comfortable receiving and following directions from teachers, directors, administrative staff, and team leaders.

Works cooperatively and collaboratively with staff members.

Assists with student accountability, attendance tracking, behavior coaching, instruction, supervision, snack preparation and distribution, opening lunches, and other related duties.

Is able to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.

Position Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma and a 90-hour Child Care Certification.
• Experience in a Catholic school setting preferred.
• Appreciation for young students and their families.
• Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Prior to hire, must complete a medical examination, EpiPen training, and any additional training required by school licensing regulations.

Pay Range

$15.00, Hourly
