• . You’ll combine clinical expertise with compassionate teaching to help patients live healthier, more confident lives.

What You’ll Do

Educate & Empower

Teach patients insulin self-administration, glucose monitoring, and use of glucose pumps.

Support Lifestyle Change

Provide guidance on medications, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments to improve outcomes.

Lead Programs

Deliver DSME curriculum aligned with

American Diabetes Association (ADA)

standards and current best practices.

Collaborate

Work closely with multidisciplinary providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Improve Outcomes

Collect and validate DSME program data to enhance effectiveness and patient success.

Stay Current

Act as a resource for updated diabetes education and continuously refine program content.

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including teaching in a specialty area.
• Experience in outpatient care and working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical competence.

Licensure & Certification

Current RN license in Maryland

OR

• Nurse Multi-State Compact license with “Compact” or “Multi-State Privilege” designation.
• Certification in area of specialty required.

Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)

credential preferred, or eligibility to obtain certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with CPT/ICD coding and ADA guidelines for outpatient diabetes education.
• Strong documentation and continuing education record.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach, motivate, and inspire patients.
• Commitment to excellence in practice and patient-centered care.
