About The Role
Brook Lane’s
Inpatient Services
provide intensive, 24-hour care to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing acute mental health crises. Patients in our care may face severe symptoms such as suicidal thoughts, impulsive behaviors, or require emergency stabilization. As a
Counselor Level I – LGPC
, you will play a key role in assessment, counseling, and care coordination—helping patients find stability and hope during their most vulnerable moments.

What You’ll Do
Assess & Diagnose
Conduct thorough psychosocial and mental health assessments to guide individualized treatment plans.
Counsel & Support
Provide evidence-based counseling interventions for patients and their families in a structured inpatient environment.
Coordinate Care
Work with an interdisciplinary team to create discharge plans and connect patients with community resources.
Advocate
Serve as a compassionate voice for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met.
Facilitate Groups
Lead or refer to therapeutic, support, and educational group sessions.
Document Effectively
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with facility policy.

Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited school.
Licensure
LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor) through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors.
Experience
One year in a healthcare or behavioral health setting preferred.
Skills
Strong communication, counseling knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
