About The Role

  • Performs all CT Procedures as requested by the Physicians. Performs a variety of technical procedures
  • that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Performs duties according to age
  • and condition of patient. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
  • Possesses knowledge of human growth and development. Be able to understand the range of treatment
  • and protocol needed by each patient age group.
  • Positions and transfers patients to the exam table.
  • Provides immobilization devices as required.
  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis and follows CT dose optimization.
  • Consults with physician and/or reads physician's orders to determine proper testing procedures
  • according to established protocol.
  • Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material using the power injector.
  • Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Adheres to Infection Control
  • Policies.
  • When necessary, must transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.
  • Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • erforms other duites as assigned.
  • Follows all established stroke protocols.
  • Assists Physicians with biopsies and other invasive procedures.

  • xamining images to ensure they're usable before sending them to PACS.
  • Clean and maintains CT scan equipment and the power injector after each use.
  • Maintains CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.
  • Use CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for
  • diagnosis of medical issues.

  • perate CT scanners and associated equipment safely and in accordance with established
  • policies and practices.
  • Able to keep radiation exposure to ALARA levels and use CT dose optimization for different age
  • groups ad required.
  • This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a m
  • inimum of 1 year job-related experience.
  • Desired (not required) criteria include: Completed formal training in AMA approved school. ARRT in
  • Radiology required with ARRT in CT desirable. Through knowledge of CT principles/procedures. One
  • year experience as staff technologist; comparable hospital setting preferred.
