About The Role
- Performs all CT Procedures as requested by the Physicians. Performs a variety of technical procedures
- that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Performs duties according to age
- and condition of patient. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
- Possesses knowledge of human growth and development. Be able to understand the range of treatment
- and protocol needed by each patient age group.
- Positions and transfers patients to the exam table.
- Provides immobilization devices as required.
- Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis and follows CT dose optimization.
- Consults with physician and/or reads physician's orders to determine proper testing procedures
- according to established protocol.
- Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material using the power injector.
- Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.
- Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Adheres to Infection Control
- Policies.
- When necessary, must transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.
- Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- erforms other duites as assigned.
- Follows all established stroke protocols.
- Assists Physicians with biopsies and other invasive procedures.

- xamining images to ensure they're usable before sending them to PACS.
- Clean and maintains CT scan equipment and the power injector after each use.
- Maintains CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.
- Use CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for
- diagnosis of medical issues.
O
- perate CT scanners and associated equipment safely and in accordance with established
- policies and practices.
- Able to keep radiation exposure to ALARA levels and use CT dose optimization for different age
- groups ad required.
- This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a m
- inimum of 1 year job-related experience.
- Desired (not required) criteria include: Completed formal training in AMA approved school. ARRT in
- Radiology required with ARRT in CT desirable. Through knowledge of CT principles/procedures. One
- year experience as staff technologist; comparable hospital setting preferred.
