About The Role
Provide direct patient care following patient-specific needs. Provide reception services including greeting patients, registration, telephone encounters, and appointment scheduling. Be responsible for maintaining exam rooms, utility rooms, and supply carts in a clean and orderly condition and ascertaining that all are supplied appropriately, and that equipment is maintained. Engage in effective communication with all staff to ensure smooth operations, problem-solving, and enhanced team interactions. Administer medications in accordance with established guidelines. Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of blood specimen procurement within the scope of practice. Correctly identifies patients undergoing phlebotomy and correctly labels patients’ specimens by using established policies and procedures. Assist in procedures in the office such as hemorrhoid banding, pelvic exam, pap smear, and ear irrigation. Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures as documented through review or as observed in an actual emergency. Notify the Manager of all unusual occurrences of an urgent nature as they develop.
