About The Role
About the Role As a Junior Accounting Analyst you will perform controllership duties such as period-end closing on the Bank’s ledgers and financial reporting systems, reconciliations of selected subledgers against the Bank’s general ledgers and maintains non-core banking subledgers such as Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, among others. He/She improves the control environment through identifying and resolving data quality issues and participating in continuous improvement. This role likewise provides decision support through internal reports for HR, Project Team, IT, among others and variance analysis of selected operational expense accounts. How you'll contribute Understands and enforces relevant SBC policies and procedures affecting own transactions by ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions in the Bank’s subledgers such as Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, Insurance among others. Performs posting of transactions in Oracle fixed assets/accounts receivables, and journal entries in general ledger. Processes conversion of ERP GL entries to FBEQ entries then endorses to Junior Accounting Officer to request posting in FBEQ. Develops understanding and compliance with relevant laws, legislation, standards (accounting/tax etc.) affecting own transactions processed by supporting the team in delivering timely and accurate financial statements to the Bank’s regulators, the BSP and SEC, among others. Performs period-end close duties on the Bank’s general ledgers and financial reporting systems namely journal entries and period-end reconciliations. Provides timely and accurate financial information for the preparation of tax forms and filings. Monitors and analyzes movements of various general ledger (accounts receivable/ payable, fixed assets, miscellaneous asset/ liability) accounts regularly, ensures that there are no long outstanding items, and maintains accurate records. Identifies operational and accounting issues and escalates or resolves where appropriate through reconciliation of the Bank’s selected regulatory ledger and reporting systems against transaction subledgers. Ensures that all float items are adjusted within the allowable number of float days and long outstanding items are escalated Conducts variance analysis of assigned expense accounts. Understands relevant SBC policies and procedures affecting own transactions processed and understands own processes in the context of the wider organization. Process transaction entries for subledgers maintained by general accounting namely accounts receivables, fixed assets, insurance and sales contracts receivables, among others.. Performs controls relevant to own role. This includes updating process documentation and conducting process improvements.
