To support the development, implementation and continual improvement of the environment management system, ensuring legal compliance, environment risk management and delivering on environmental objectives. List the key responsibilities of the job (no more than 5). Act as a subject matter expert for property safety, partnering with property, facilities management and the wider H S function to embed safe systems of work across SGN depots, offices and sites with SGN assets. Lead on and ensure property safety compliance with all relevant legislation and standards across SGN, including but not limited to fire safety, asbestos, legionella, PUWER, LOLER, CDM regulations, ISO14001 and ISO45001. Monitor property safety performance, investigate incidents where required and provide assurance for contractor compliance during development and maintenance of the property portfolio. This includes reviewing risk assessment and method statements, competence, permits to work, and challenging non-compliance when required. Conduct property safety inspections, for existing and new developments, escalate any safety-critical defects and provide assurance of compliance. Ensure closure of corrective actions and learnings are shared through communication with the wider business. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, monitor legislative changes, provide continual improvement and promote SGN’s zero harm safety culture. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Describe what, if any, academic qualifications/certifications are essential in this job? NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (or equivalent). IOSH membership (TechIOSH/GradIOSH or working towards). Describe what technical skills and job knowledge/experience are essential in this job? Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, compliance obligations and safety management systems. Strong knowledge and/or experience required in: Fire safety Legionella Management PUWER and LOLER Asbestos safety CDM Regulations Risk Assessments and Method Statements Building safety inspections Experience influencing stakeholders and working with contractors, managers and operational teams to deliver safety outcomes. Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills. Full UK Driving License Previous length of experience required in similar role?
