About The Role
o lead and embed a Zero Harm safety, assurance and risk culture across the organisation, in which safety, assurance and good risk practices are integral to how we operate. The post hold will be responsible for ensuring that risks to people, operations, assets and reputation are effectively identified, assessed, mitigated and reported. Supporting the Chief Safety Officer in providing assurance to the Executive and the Board regarding compliance, resilience, and the health of our risk environment. List the key responsibilities of the job (no more than 5). Lead and develop a high-performing team across safety, assurance, risk and culture. Promote cross-functional collaboration and capability building. Define, develop and implement the organisation’s Safety, Assurance Risk Strategy to align with SGN’s Zero Harm ambition and it’s regulatory requirements. Drive forward and champion an effective safety and risk culture: establishing and promoting the desired behaviours, values and mind-sets, continuous learning, open incident reporting and proactive risk management. Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive and Board, providing insight, challenge and guidance on risk and assurance matters. Oversee SGN’s risk management framework: risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting. Strategic lead on business continuity planning across SGN, ensuring the organisation is in a ‘ready’ state to respond to emergency responses (i.e. front line incidents, cyber attacks etc.). Lead the assurance function: internal audit, compliance monitoring, assurance mapping, control testing, third-party audits and assurance reviews. Provide timely, insightful, and actionable risk/assurance reporting to the Executive, the Board and other stakeholders. Lead SGN’s health safety strategy, ensuring effective policies, procedures and safety management systems are in place and embedded to ensure compliance for our legal and regulatory requirements. Oversee incident investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, learning loops and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) in safety, near-miss reporting, injury/illness metrics.
