About The Role

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire The role: We are looking for a proactive and motivated Logistics Operative to join our busy logistics operation in Cheltenham. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of goods while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and customer service. Working across multiple areas of the logistics function, including Goods Receiving Bay (GRB) and Distribution Centre (DC), you will support the smooth flow of materials and products to help meet customer requirements and business objectives. Key responsibilities: Carry out goods receipt, put-away, picking, packing, loading and despatch activities. Process customer orders efficiently to achieve on-time-to-request (OTTR) targets. Operate warehouse management and MRP systems accurately, ensuring all transactions are completed correctly and on time. Conduct stock counts and investigate inventory discrepancies. Operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely across logistics operations. Support recycling and waste management processes in line with company procedures. Build effective working relationships with colleagues across logistics and wider business functions. Comply with all Environment, Health Safety (EHS) requirements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and operational excellence. Support other logistics activities and projects as required. Your experience: Previous experience working within a warehouse, distribution centre or logistics environment. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), MRP systems or similar logistics software. Proven experience using handheld scanning equipment. Experience operating multiple types of MHE, including ride-on trucks, forklift trucks and reach trucks. Current and up-to-date MHE licences preferred. Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment. Ability to prioritise workloads and meet changing business demands. Your skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good verbal, written and numerical communication skills. Excellent organisation and time management abilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to work. Confidence in following procedures and working to operational targets. Ability to use information to support decision-making and problem-solving. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop. Strong focus on safety, customer service and continuous improvement. Ability to take initiative and contribute positively in team discussions.
