Senior Bid Manager

As a Senior Bid Manager within STRABAG UK's Infrastructure Division, you will play a pivotal role in securing major projects that shape the future of the UK's energy, water, and civil engineering sectors. Leading complex, high-value bids from opportunity identification through to contract award, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop compelling, customer-focused proposals that showcase STRABAG's technical excellence, innovation, and commitment to sustainable infrastructure delivery. As part of the Precon team (estimating, planning and proposals), work with operational, technical, and other subject matter experts to deliver bids, whilst ensuring compliance with company governance processes. Develop and manage resource plans and bid budgets, and manage people and processes from initial market engagement, pre-qualification, and tender stages. The role encompasses programme and estimation reviews, risk compilation, liaison with the client and external stakeholders, and facilitating the development of win strategies. Requirements: Effective bid management, capable of leading tenders with values of £10m to £2Bn+ Ensure a bid programme is in place. Review and monitor progress to resolve any issues Review of pre-contract documents Commercial and design liaison, working alongside the design, estimating and technical teams To facilitate and present value engineering ideas throughout the process Be fully conversant with all construction-related policies and directives from health and safety to CDM. Identify and plan bid resource requirements, and ensure that bid team members are well-supported Agree and maintain a bid budget, to manage bid cost and ensure value for money Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, customers, supply chain partners Lead and contribute to project co-ordination meetings Work with technical and commercial teams to ensure compliance with governance requirements Facilitate lessons learnt and ensure best practice is implemented for continuous improvement
