About The Role
Job Summary The SAP Consultant will be responsible for providing ongoing application maintenance and support for SAP Finance (FI) modules, ensuring smooth operation of business processes. The role involves resolving incidents, implementing minor enhancements, coordinating with business users, and ensuring adherence to SAP best practices. The consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to support business continuity and process optimization in the Finance domain. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for SAP FI modules (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, etc.). Analyze and resolve production issues, service requests, and incidents within defined SLAs. Collaborate with business users to understand finance-related requirements and translate them into SAP functional solutions. Perform system configuration , testing, and documentation for change requests and small enhancements. Work closely with technical teams (ABAP, Basis) for debugging, issue analysis, and transports. Support month-end and year-end closing activities , ensuring accurate financial reporting. Coordinate with AMS and project teams to ensure seamless handover of new functionalities into support. Prepare Functional Specifications (FS) for custom developments, reports, or interfaces. Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and assist end-users during testing and deployment. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within FI processes. Maintain comprehensive documentation of configuration, test results, and change history. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology , or related field. 5–8 years of experience as an SAP FI Functional Consultant , with at least 2–3 years in AMS/support roles . Strong knowledge of SAP FI submodules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting . Understanding of integration points with other SAP modules (MM, SD, CO). Proficiency in incident management and change management processes (e.g., using ServiceNow, Solution Manager, or similar tools). Good understanding of accounting principles and financial closing processes . Ability to work in onshore-offshore delivery models and communicate effectively with global teams. Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Finance will be an added advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
