Commissioning Engineer Mechanical

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for supervision of commissioning and start-up activities of Boiler, BOP according to contractual agreements with our customers. Inspection of site installation as per GA & PP drawings and P&ID, preparation of punch list, site discrepancies reporting as per ISO formats, preparation of commissioning schedule. Reviewing of design basis specifications, process description, operating philosophy, cause & effect, heat & mass balance, pressure vessels, PSV’s, control valves for safe operations. Planning daily, weekly activities, calling for meetings with the officials, to use the resources effectively for completing the project on time. Coordinate with site construction team to get complete the pre-commissioning and commissioning punch list. Coordinate and follow up with HO team for getting the resolution for site discrepancies, pending material to achieve completion of project as per the schedule. Handling of Vendors and utilizing their visit properly for commissioning and troubleshooting the problems faced in vendor related equipment’s and maintaining records. Handling commissioning activities like, Refractory Dry Out, Alkali Boil Out / Chemical Cleaning, Steam Blowing, Safety Valve Floating and Various Start-up activities. Familiar in Commissioning and troubleshooting of different types of burners in Boiler / Heaters w.r.t. single or multi fuel firing (LSHS, HFO & LDO). Familiar in Commissioning and troubleshooting of different kind of boilers (Solid fuels / Oil & Gas / WHRBs) / Heaters Operating and fine tuning the operation parameters of boiler / heaters to achieve optimized output to ensure customer satisfaction on product. Imparting Classroom & Field training programme on O&M of the Boiler / Heater along with its auxiliaries to the Field & DCS operators & associated engineers for effective & smooth running of the plant. Taking immediate action in emergencies, to rectify problems and restore normal operation or shut down the plant or in extreme emergencies, to safeguard it from avoidable damage and to ensure the safety of personnel on the plant. Conducting checks & Mock-up trials on Auxiliaries, Continuous monitoring on system performance and verifying the system with various load patterns. Conducting Performance Guarantee Test of the commissioned Boiler / Heater as per PTC / contractual requirement and comparing the performance for deviation if any before submitting to the HO. Involving in plant automation to establish the stable operation at various loads. Preparing the various documents like ISO Protocols, MOMs, Handover / Completion Documents and maintain logs, Timesheets, vendor visit records and sharing the performance issues if any to corresponding inter departments. Provide warrantee services to clients after commissioning. Prepare and implement documents and procedures for commissioning and start-up of Boiler / Heaters according to agreed terms and conditions or previous lesson learnt. Maintaining cordial relationship with the customer for smooth and effective completion of the project. Critical Competencies: Functional: Efficient & timely reporting to Managers/HODs. To understand the job on hand, the design specifications and provide inputs on the commissioning aspect of the job. Continuous interaction with customer and HO all through the commissioning activity, making progress report, inputs requirement from the customer, get the necessary support from the inter-departments to ensure timely problem solving, and delivery of quality job. Providing feedback for product/ process improvements. Report writing and MIS. Technical knowledge on bought outs and fabrication. Customer Training.
