About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Campus Safety, the Administrative Assistant oversees the efficient operation and participates in the daily activities of the Campus Safety Office.

Provide administrative, operational and departmental support. Assist with coordinating events and/or meetings including scheduling, securing locations/event spaces, arranging catering, working with vendors and presenters, identifying audio-visual needs, coordinating travel (accommodations, dining reservations, etc.) Assists in various marketing efforts including, but not limited to, creating and distribution of promotional materials for events such as brochures and flyers. Oversee a staff of student employees and manage student staff payroll. Maintain Daily Crime Log in accordance with federal guidelines Manage billing of parking registrations and citations. Orders necessary office supplies and materials for department/area, meetings, and events. Works with vendors on invoicing and purchase orders. Liaises with appropriate parties to service office equipment and troubleshoot issues. Respond to questions from staff, students, faculty and visitors. Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

High School Diploma or GED Associate's degree, preferred 1-3 years of work experience working with Oracle or other payroll systems. Able to pass a background check Experience/commitment to working with and supporting diverse communities Familiarity with OSHA, FMLA and military leave procedures Possess strong critical thinking skills Familiarity with Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Zoom, report writing software such as Omnigo Familiarity with accounts payable invoice processing procedures Familiarity with Cleary Act, Title IX, FERPA Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and compassion Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a diverse team Display sensitivity to the unique role that security plays in a college setting Effective oral and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Meticulous attention to detail Reliable and able to work independently under established guidelines Previous higher education experience is a plus Ability to maintain confidentiality
