About The Role
The Hemophilia Center Pharmacist, per diem, is responsible for the operations of the Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) Pharmacy Program, which serves a multi-state population of patients with bleeding and clotting disorders by providing hemophilia factor concentrates and related medications. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of pharmacy technicians, participation in clinical functions, fiscal accountability, dispensation of research study drugs, assuming 24/7 on-call coverage of the pharmacy when scheduled, and compliance with the 3408 PHS Program.
Demonstrated skills in providing exemplary patient care and customer service, including maintaining confidentiality and being reliably available to patients when they seek care or advice. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, able to dialogue effectively with a wide range of patients, patients’ families, faculty and staff. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and pharmacy software applications. Excellent working knowledge of institutional electronic medical record systems (EMR). Ability to work cooperatively/effectively with others of diverse personalities, education & cultural backgrounds. Knowledgeable and well-versed in pharmacy regulations. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed. Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed. 24/7 on-call availability, as needed.
Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy Licensed pharmacist in the state of Louisiana Preferred Qualifications: Experience in 340B PHS Pharmacy Drug Program management Five years of pharmacy practice experience, to include patient counseling and disease management.
