About The Role
JOB DESCRIPTION Administrative Aide 2 - NTC Peer College Advisor 2 Hourly Pay Rate: $14.00 Federal Work-Study is not required for this position. The Administrative Aide 2 will support the department/organization in various administrative and operational tasks. About the Peer Advising Program The NTC Peer College Advising Program is a peer-support program within the Office of College Advising at Newcomb-Tulane College. Peer College Advisors (PCAs) are trained extensively in the core curriculum, degree requirements, and University services available to students. Each Peer College Advisor works with additional projects to enhance the experience of our undergraduate students. The PCA role is meant to provide support and encouragement to their peers as they navigate the challenges associated with adjusting to college. In this paid position, PCAs partner with College Advisors to help students with registration decisions and beyond. PCAs will be trained to use the motivational interviewing approach in their meetings with students. Qualifications Sophomore, junior, or senior classification for the 2026-2027 academic year Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.750 Able to commit to both fall and spring semesters with availability for training prior to the start of the Fall semester. Ability to: establish rapport with peers, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public, serve as a student mentor, set a positive tone for interaction, and demonstrate responsibility and respect for others' rights, feelings, lifestyles, and diverse backgrounds Demonstrate good judgment and ethical behavior. Commitment to handling confidential information with care and professionalism. Responsibilities and Expectations Maintain a 2.750 cumulative GPA Meet with students one-on-one for scheduled appointments and be available for drop-in hours Work a maximum of 10 hours per week Keep accurate documentation of all student meetings and hours worked Maintain professionalism and confidentiality Attend all required trainings, meetings, and events Assist the College Advisors and their campus partners with workshops, on-campus events, and promotion of the available support services Refer students to appropriate campus resources This position will help student employees demonstrate and cultivate the career readiness competencies in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
