About The Role
Are you a School of Engineering student who is passionate about teaching? Are you interested in giving back to first year students and helping contribute to a positive first year students? Do you enjoy explaining, encouraging, mentoring, or coaching? Apply to be a Peer Learning Facilitator (PLF) for the First Year Engineering Program! We are hiring several new PLFs for the Fall 2026 semester. In this role, you will support the First Year Engineering (FYE) instructors to help create a high quality and positive educational students for all incoming first year students to School of Engineering. The FYE supports students from all SoE majors, including all engineering disciplines, computer science, and construction management. Your primary job responsibilities will include: - Attending class and supporting students in working on active learning activities and design projects - Hosting extra support hours for the students - Giving feedback on student work to help them know where they’ve gone wrong and how to improve - Giving students advice on student success and major selection - Meeting with the instructional team to provide feedback and understand upcoming assignments - Meeting to receive professional development about the PLF role
