About The Role
Organization: New Mexico Museum of Natural History Science Location: 1801 Mountain Rd NW Albuquerque, NM 87104 An Off-Campus Work-Study position - MUST have a Work-Study Award The Education Outreach Assistant will support the delivery of dynamic science education programs that inspire curiosity and foster a love for the natural world to the public during outreach events. This role works closely with the outreach coordinator and engages diverse audiences across New Mexico. This position works a maximum of 15 hours per week (30 hours per two-week pay period). Key Responsibilities: ●Assist in delivering hands-on educational programs/activities at offsite venues such as libraries, schools, community festivals, and other public spaces. ●Interact with participants of all ages, backgrounds, and communities in a friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic manner. ●Facilitate engaging learning experiences related to natural history and science topics. ●Handle delicate fossils, bones and live animals with care and in compliance with museum handling protocols for preservation and safety.
