About The Role
The Department of Educational Foundations and the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in the College of Education, and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach the following community-based courses during the following session(s): Fall 2026 Session Course Number, Section, and Name: EFDT 265.3 (E57) Foundations for First Nations Metis and Inuit Teaching and Learning Term and Course Dates: Term 1 (September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026) CRN: 92631 Delivery Mode: This course will be offered as a Lecture (Live in-person on Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation). Course Schedule: Alternating Thursdays. Actual class times to be determined in consultation with the successful applicant at the discretion of program; 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No evenings or weekends. Expected Enrollment Limit: 35 Location: Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation (approx. 1hr NE of Saskatoon, SK) Qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Education or a related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing and to fostering respectful, reciprocal learning environments. They must also possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture as well as indigenization and the decolonization of pedagogy to uplift and support Indigenous students. A valid driver’s license is required for any off campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days in recognition of preparation and marking time required.
