Online Facilitator, AGRC 113, College of Agriculture and Bioresources

Primary Purpose: The College of Agriculture and Bioresources and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Online Facilitator to instruct the following fully online course. Course Number, Section, and Name: AGRC 113.3 (W02 et al) Introduction to Agri Food Economics Term and Course Dates: Term 2 (January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027) Delivery Mode: This course will be offered fully online. Course Schedule: Course delivery and instruction will include asynchronous (unscheduled) days and times. Expected Enrollment Limit: 80 Compensation Rate: 51-100 students $9,434.88 Nature of Work: Reporting to the Associate Dean Academic, this position is responsible for instructing and facilitating an online class. The online instructor will use web-based course tools to communicate with students, facilitate discussions and accept and grade assignments. Applicants must have above average technical, administrative and pedagogical competencies. The position can exercise some discretion regarding office hours ensuring active participation and timely communication with students and administrators. The online instructor must be committed to online teaching, act professionally, communicate clearly (written and oral) and foster student involvement through activities and discussions that are vibrant and engaging to facilitate positive student outcomes. Education: Completion of a graduate degree in Agriculture or related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience. Experience: A relevant teaching position and/or experience teaching a course with related content. Experience teaching in an online setting is considered an asset. Skills: Proficient computer applications and technology skills, including web-based course tool (Canvas Course Tools), word processing, email, internet, and other peripheral accessories and software programs; effective leadership, communication and teaching skills; ability to effectively interact, motivate and build relationships with a diverse student population; demonstrated ability to deal with multiple priorities and effectively organize time in a self-directed manner.
