The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR), a Division of the Department of Workforce Services (DWS), is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Office Specialist I / Driver to join our Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DSBVI) in the Salt Lake City office. Principal Duties The Office Specialist I / Driver performs the following tasks: Drives a state vehicle, under 26,000 pounds GVW or which carries less than 16 passengers. Transports passengers to various locations or transports supplies, materials, laundry or equipment. Drives a car, passenger or courier van, bus, or truck for pick-up and delivery of materials or transportation of staff and clients. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines. Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards. Inspects vehicles for safety, fuel, oil and water before departure. Services equipment with fuel, oil and other needs: checks fluid levels, cleans equipment and vehicles externally and internally, replaces bulbs and filters. Provides exceptional customer service to clients, vendors and community partners. Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials. Maintains and/or creates files or record keeping systems. Sorts, labels, files and retrieves documents or other materials. Performs basic accounting tasks including tracking and accuracy checks of accounts payable/receivable. Greets and checks-in clients and visitors as they arrive. Answers and directs incoming phone calls and emails. Provides basic information about DSBVI and the application process. Uses Google Calendar to track, schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments or other office activities. Faxes, mails, copies, emails and scans/attaches documents into the database. Understands and keeps up to date on current fiscal policy and procedure. Assists staff with administrative tasks as assigned. Processes agency documents including reviewing for accuracy and completeness. Provides the public and others with information and assistance in completing agency forms and applications. Participates in office trainings and meetings. Maintains supply inventory and assists in purchasing supplies.
