Paraprofessional for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, USDB

We are looking for four caring and motivated individuals to fill the position of Paraprofessional for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing working at the Jean Massieu School for the Deaf in Salt Lake. The Paraprofessional assists a classroom instructor in working with deaf/hard of hearing students, who may have additional disabilities. Roles and Responsibilities As a Paraprofessional you will: prepare teaching materials and tutor individual students under the supervision of the instructor communicate the progress of the students to the instructor perform such duties as may relate to the motivation and achievement of students in academic and skills areas assist with behavior interventions under the direction of the instructor assist with routine daily activities, i.e. bus duty, recess, lunch, bathroom (may include diapering), etc. provide support in a classroom environment by working directly with teachers and students. maintain accurate records and logs. design and/or prepare training/instructional materials, teaching aids and devices.
