About The Role

The News Director is responsible for overseeing and taking part in the newsgathering efforts of Public Radio Tulsa (located on The University of Tulsa campus), a National Public Radio (NPR) station for broadcast, Web, and social media. Serving as assignment editor for two other reporters. Supervising, editing and critiquing performance of two Anchor/Reporters. Contributing and supervising contributions of spot news and features to NPR programs and newscasts. Coordinating with senior management on special events and coverage. Coordinating with other News Directors and public radio staff across the state. Serves as a substitute anchor when needed and maintains station compliance with FCC, CPB regulations and journalistic ethics.
