We are looking for an

Engineering Leader

to own a large and critical engineering portfolio at Vegapay. This role goes beyond team management—you will drive technical direction, ensure high-quality execution, and build systems that are scalable, reliable, and secure.

You will lead multiple engineering teams across backend, platform, and integrations, and play a key role in shaping both the product and the engineering organization.

The Hats You Will Wear

• Own end-to-end delivery of critical engineering initiatives across multiple teams
• Drive architecture, system design, and long-term technical strategy
• Ensure high standards of scalability, performance, reliability, and uptime
• Partner closely with Product, Business, and Operations to execute on roadmap priorities
• Build and scale engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
• Establish strong engineering processes, code quality standards, and development practices
• Drive security, compliance, and data protection across systems
• Improve development velocity while maintaining high quality and stability

The Perfect Fit

• 12-14 years of experience in software engineering, with significant leadership experience
• Strong expertise in backend systems, distributed systems, and system design
• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex, large-scale systems
• Experience scaling both engineering teams and production systems
• Strong problem-solving, execution, and decision-making skills
• Educational background from a top-tier engineering institute (IITs, NITs, BITS, or equivalent)

Your Edge Over The Rest

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or credit ecosystems
• Exposure to card issuing, lending systems, or BaaS platforms
• Experience working in high-growth startups or rapidly scaling tech environments
