Mission of the Role: Visteon seeks an Engineering Leader responsible for development, systems integration, and customer delivery of complex embedded automotive products including Audio, Infotainment, Cockpit Domain Controllers, and software-defined vehicle platforms. The role combines technical engineering leadership with program execution responsibility across hardware, software, systems, validation, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams. Key Objectives of this Role: Visteon’s Engineering Leaders are responsible for owning program execution Audio/Cluster ECU development (from concept to SOP and beyond). They will work with Visteon customers and monitor internal engineering team progress, and track delivery milestones for all engineering swim lanes (e.g., HW, SW, Systems, Manufacturing, etc), to ensure timely delivery, cost optimization, & quality outcomes. Additional duties include: Embedded Systems & Technical Leadership Responsibilities · Lead the engineering development and delivery of embedded automotive electronic control units (ECUs), including Audio, Infotainment (IVI), Cockpit Domain Controller (CDC), and connected vehicle platforms. · Provide technical leadership across systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, validation, integration, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle from concept through production launch and post-SOP support. · Drive technical reviews of system requirements, software architecture, hardware architecture, product design specifications, verification plans, and engineering change requests. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and integrate embedded software solutions utilizing automotive development frameworks, operating systems, middleware, and communication protocols. Lead technical decision-making related to ECU architecture, embedded software functionality, system performance, cybersecurity, diagnostics, reliability, and manufacturability. Guide engineering teams in root cause analysis, defect resolution, system debugging, and vehicle-level integration activities for hardware and software issues. Ensure compliance with automotive development standards and processes including ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434), and customer-specific engineering requirements. Support development and validation of automotive communication networks including CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet, and associated diagnostic protocols. Review engineering trade-off studies related to system performance, memory utilization, processing capability, thermal management, cost optimization, and product scalability. Partner with software, systems, hardware, test, and validation teams to ensure robust product development and successful vehicle integration. Program Execution and Monitoring: Own end to end complex program execution Audio/Cluster ECU development (from concept to SOP and beyond). Monitor progress, and track delivery milestones for all engineering swim lanes (e.g., HW, SW, Systems, Manufacturing, etc), to ensure timely delivery, cost optimization, & quality outcomes. Reporting Structure : This role reports to Visteon’s Senior Director of Customer Programs. This position will manage 2 engineers and lead a matrixed team of 50+ professionals, including hardware and software engineers, and other customer delivery team members. Key Performance Indicators: · Delivery within project cost, budgets and schedules. · Achieving program milestones within defined budget and timelines. · Manage Program financials: EBITDA and IRR, material Margin · Successful DV, PV & Launch: Timely and quality delivery of customer programs. · Customer Scorecard: track CSAT score and number of customer escalations · Delivery Rate, Defect Rate, Cost Variance · On-Time Production Launch: Alignment of program timelines with manufacturing start dates. · Program Benefits Realization: increased revenue, cost savings, improved efficiency, enhanced customer experience · New projects/enhancements Qualifications, Experience and Skills: · Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a related field. · 10+ years of proven experience leading embedded systems, audio infotainment product development or program management, including successful delivery of complex engineering projects/programs or a similar leadership in an automotive or technology industry. · Strong understanding of complex electronic architecture product development and the project management life cycle. · Proficiency in engineering processes (PI planning, JIRA, Confluence, etc.) project management methodologies with knowledge of project & product management tools · Experience in resource planning, budget management, and business continuity planning. · Familiarity with AI based application(s) for data analysis and insights to drive operational excellence and decision making will be an added advantage. · Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence effectively across levels in a matrixed organization. · Ability to reframe perspectives effectively and foster positive relationships. · Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. · Ability to work on-site at assigned Visteon location and willingness to travel up to 15% or as required.
