Overview Welcome to Marin Community Clinics! Since 1972, Marin Community Clinics has been dedicated to providing compassionate, high‑quality, and affordable health care to uninsured and low‑income residents of Marin County. What began with volunteer physicians and nurses caring for patients in local church basements has grown into a modern, innovative health care organization. Today, our clinics feature state‑of‑the‑art facilities, experienced and passionate medical professionals, advanced technology, and comprehensive programs focused on prevention, treatment, and holistic well‑being. Interns, Externs, and Volunteers play an important role in our mission, and we appreciate your enthusiasm to contribute. Responsibilities Interns, externs, volunteers, and contract providers support our mission by carrying out a wide range of meaningful responsibilities under the direct guidance of clinic leadership and medical directors. Their work may include assisting with patient-centered projects, supporting clinical workflows, contributing to health education initiatives, participating in quality improvement activities, and helping ensure an efficient and welcoming care environment. Each role is assigned tasks that align with the individual’s skills and training, while providing valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic community health setting. Qualifications ImmunizationsFullfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements. Candidates must be able to provide documentation of all required immunizations in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards. Background CheckApplicants may be required to successfully pass a background check if the volunteer role involves direct patient interaction or access to Electronic Health Records (EHR). Language SkillsBilingual English–Spanish proficiency is highly desirable, though not mandatory. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Healthcare ExperiencePrior experience in a health care setting is preferred but not required. Cultural SensitivityMust demonstrate the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a diverse, multicultural, and multi-ethnic environment. Work Schedule FlexibilityMust be able to accommodate a flexible schedule based on the needs of the assignment. TravelMust be willing and able to travel to different Marin Community Clinics locations as needed.
