About The Role

The Quality Performance Improvement Analyst II supports clinical and financial quality and patient safety efforts and performs data mining and report writing from diverse and complex sources for data analysis. The Analyst designs innovative algorithmic solutions, unique to each project, from various data sources. The Analyst performs data analysis and proposes recommendations related to processes, costs and improvements. The Analyst organizes system measurements and provides support related to inventory, training and maintenance.

Designs, modifies and builds new data processes from various sources Manages, transforms and integrates datasets, in preparation for analytics Utilizes the data resources to improve the operating performance of the clinical informatics programs Builds prototypes and performs data visualization Conducts scalable data research, modeling and experiment design Prepares written and verbal communication and presentation of data Develops, trains and creates an environment where staff and users understand and follow normal and customary data validation processes Develops and deploys innovative algorithm solutions for clinical and financial efficiency Develops and tests infrastructure to allow easy deployment and modifications of commonly used algorithms Generates algorithms and creates computer models Audits data relationships and the algorithm outcomes Supports clinical and financial quality/resource management efforts and serves as a formal link to the Clinical Effectiveness Program Provides data analysis to propose recommendations for prioritization of clinical process, cost and outcome improvements Provides coordination, training and data support of performance improvement team's redesign efforts Trains team members in statistical and non-statistical tools and techniques Researches best practices and guidelines for evidence-based practice implementations Supports implementations of clinical pathways and case management systems Facilitates the integration of measurement and assessment data and systems Maintains inventory of databases and indicators/measures Provides statistical analysis and correlation of data for system support Supports corporate compliance through training and maintenance of clinical outcomes system applications and databases

Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree in an accredited program in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, Computer Science, or other field of study; Appropriate experience can be used in lieu of education Preferred: Master's Degree in related clinical field Certification: Preferred: Membership in relevant professional organizations (i.e. National Association Healthcare Quality and CPHQ certification) Experience: Required: Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare facility; with three years of experience in, quality management, performance improvement, or risk management performing data mining, informatics, data analytics, standard methodologies for data extractions including queries Preferred: Experience with performance improvement processes and methodologies; data analysis; root cause analysis; healthcare failure mode effects analysis; team facilitation; clinical resource management; and database management, including database linkages and statistical applications. Skills: Strong critical thinking skills and strong clinical analytical skills
