About The Role
The Development Impact Measurement Department – Infrastructure Unit (CDIIN) is part of the Strategy and Operations Support Vice Presidency (COSVP). CDIIN supports IFC's infrastructure business by assessing and measuring the development impact of investments and advisory services across energy, transport, water, and other infrastructure sectors. The unit works closely with IFC operational teams throughout the project cycle, helping identify opportunities for private sector development, applying IFC's Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring (AIMM) framework, monitoring project outcomes, and contributing to sector strategies and analytical work. The selected intern will support the team in research, data analysis, portfolio monitoring, and the preparation of materials that inform development impact assessments and strategic decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities • Support infrastructure investment projects • Provide desk research and analytical support to CDI economists for IFC infrastructure projects, including market-level research on sector trends, market structure, competition, regulatory frameworks, and development gaps to inform AIMM assessments. • Support AIMM reviews by preparing documentation and preliminary assessments, while collecting, validating, and organizing project, sector, and market data. • Support infrastructure advisory and upstream projects • Review infrastructure advisory and upstream projects at key stages of the project lifecycle and support quality assurance efforts to ensure consistent and accurate results reporting. • Assist in the review of Project Supervision Reports (PSRs) during reporting cycles, including the validation of supporting data, indicators, and evidence documenting project achievements. Corporate initiatives • Assist CDI economists by gathering, organizing, and consolidating project documentation and data required for More and Better Jobs (MBJ) estimation. • Prepare and maintain calculation templates, input files, and supporting databases to facilitate the efficient and consistent application of MBJ methodologies. • Review project indicators and supporting evidence to ensure consistency, completeness, and alignment with AIMM and CDI methodologies. • Perform other analytical and operational support tasks as required by the CDIIN team.
