Senior Director, liver disease & cardiovascular disease pharmacology(J23826)

Summary

We are actively seeking an exceptional candidate specializing in hepatology, hepatobiliary diseases, and cardiovascular disease. The successful candidate will lead team to run projects focusing on hepatic and hepatobiliary diseases, including but not limited to cirrhosis, fibrosis, alcoholic/non-alcoholic liver disease, metabolic and genetic liver disorders, gallbladder disorders, and biliary tree diseases, and cardiovascular diseases, including but not limited to atherosclerosis, heart failure, hypertension, thrombosis, and vascular disorders. This position presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across WuXi AppTec and global clients, driving forward new business opportunities and making drug discovery against liver and cardiovascular disease more effective and efficient.

Responsibilities

Project Management: Oversee every aspect of preclinical pharmacology project within both liver and cardiovascular disease areas. This includes designing and executing studies, interpreting data, and producing high-quality reports adhering to regulatory requirements. Uphold stringent quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Capability Building: Drive the expansion and enhancement of our liver disease and cardiovascular disease pharmacology platforms. Stay informed and direct innovative research and development initiatives, ensuring the pioneering position of our liver and cardiovascular disease platforms, thereby offering clients the most advanced, comprehensive, and effective solutions in these fields.

Business Winning: Recognize and cultivate new business opportunities in the field of liver and cardiovascular disease research in close collaboration with our BD team. Foster and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded, thereby driving business growth and client retention.

Strategic Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of scientists and technicians focused on liver and cardiovascular pharmacology. Provide guidance and training to team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge to ensure top performance and continuous growth.

1. M.S. or Ph.D. in biology, pharmacology, cardiovascular science, hepatology, or other relevant fields.
2. Deep understanding in both hepatology/hepatobiliary disease biology or cardiovascular disease biology, including relevant assays and animal models, with a proven track record (industry experience preferred).
3. Proficiency in English writing and speaking.
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
