About The Role

Lead discussions with clients to understand their project needs in oligonucleotide chemical modification, conjugation, or delivery, and prepare tailored proposals addressing those needs.
Plan and manage projects involving internal teams from different departments including chemistry (modification/synthesis/conjugation), delivery formulation, in vitro/in vivo biology, and DMPK/toxicology.
Plan and manage internal R&D projects to develop and enhance the oligonucleotide chemistry, conjugation, and delivery platforms and capabilities.
Analyze current scientific and technical challenges in oligonucleotide modification, conjugation, or delivery systems, propose innovative solutions and implement them.
Source and manage relationships, and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of outsource providers and collaborators.
Strive to enhance team performance through effective and efficient management of resources.
Work with domestic and overseas BD teams to address client concerns related to chemistry, conjugation, or delivery strategies, and increase client win rate.
Play active roles in preparing study protocols and reports. Document scientific findings and write manuscripts and patents in the field of oligonucleotide chemistry or delivery.
Ph.D. in organic chemistry, nucleic acid chemistry, chemical biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a relevant major, with 2+ years of experience in oligonucleotide drug discovery – especially in chemical modification, conjugation, or delivery systems. Working experience in siRNA or ASO-focused companies is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of oligonucleotide drug discovery, particularly ASO and siRNA, including chemical modification strategies (e.g., backbone, sugar, base modifications), conjugation technologies (GalNAc, peptide, antibody, lipid), and delivery systems (LNP, polymers, exosomes, etc.).
Familiar with the discovery and development of therapeutic oligonucleotides, with a strong emphasis on novel modification designs, linker/conjugation chemistry, or formulation/delivery engineering.
Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, post-synthetic conjugation, purification/characterization (HPLC, LC-MS), or formulation of delivery vehicles (e.g., LNP preparation, particle sizing, encapsulation efficiency).
Scientific publications on ASO, siRNA, mRNA, or other nucleic acid therapeutics with focus on chemistry, conjugation, or delivery.
High motivation to embrace new technologies and tools (e.g., extrahepatic delivery, novel modified nucleosides).
Demonstrated strong communication skills, high ability to build personal rapport with all stakeholders (clients, internal teams, BD, external partners), and excellent teamwork spirit.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking both Chinese and English (English must be sufficient for direct client meetings and report writing).
