Manager, Risk Management

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated contingent worker who is bilingual in French and English. The ideal candidate will have strong proofreading and translation skills, with knowledge of legal terminology being highly advantageous. This role involves proofreading documents translated by an external agency and occasionally translating documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread documents translated by an external agency.
  • Ensure translations are accurate, consistent, and adhere to the firm’s style guidelines.
  • Edit documents and make suggestions regarding word choice and sentence structure.
  • Provide input regarding the correct style for citations and ensure documents are precise, well-organized, and properly formatted.
  • Translate simple documents from English to French and vice versa as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure translations meet the required standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Utilize translation tools and software to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
  • Proven experience in translation and proofreading.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology is highly advantageous.
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with translation tools and software.

  • Demonstrable ability to work with long, complex documents.
  • Knowledge of the payments, technology and financial industry is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a professional translation or proofreading role.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Toronto, Canada: $109,000 - $158,000 CAD
