Valsea is a comprehensive, highly scalable SaaS technology platform that orchestrates the operational core of various entertainment brands worldwide. Imagine a proprietary ecosystem where complex transaction flows are managed, compliance is automated, and critical operations are coordinated in real time.

Their operations base is in Marbella, a fantastic enclave that has become a true magnet for tech talent in Europe.

Although the team is a thoroughbred "Scala shop", they are currently in a phase of full expansion. Refusing to rest on their laurels, they have integrated two new components written in Go into their ecosystem.

And this is where you come in. 🫵🏾

Your main mission will be to lead the two key products that have just landed in the ecosystem. It’s not just about keeping the lights on; the current team has already started cleaning up the "past" (refactoring legacy code) so you can take full ownership and close the functional gaps needed to truly scale.

We’re talking about an event-driven microservices environment with about 80 services in total, where your new Go creations will need to communicate perfectly with the rest via Kafka.

Here, "it works" isn't enough—it must be idempotent and precise. You’ll handle hundreds of thousands of events per second, meaning a failure in financial logic isn't just a bug.

Your day-to-day won't just be about writing code; you’ll be the leading voice when talking to the Product Owner. You’ll design solutions, decide where it’s worth investing time, and where it’s better to live with technical debt for a while longer.

You will be the reference for this new stack, validating architectures with other teams and ensuring everything that goes to production with Argo is monitored to the last millisecond with Grafana and Sentry.

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and resilient backend services using Go.
• Develop event-driven, distributed systems leveraging Kafka and gRPC.
• Own and evolve acquired codebases, integrating them and expanding their capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new product features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and evolve the backend stack with best practices.
• Build and maintain back-office APIs and admin tooling for internal teams.
• Strengthen observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure reliability under production load.
• Troubleshoot production issues and proactively drive system performance improvements.
• Share knowledge with teammates and help raise the technical bar across the team.

At Valsea, work happens in a microservices environment that is purely Event-Driven (EDA). Kafka is the heart of the system, and it’s used for much more than just simple messaging; advanced knowledge (partitions, offsets, rebalancing) is essential as it drives all synchronization. For storage, the platform relies on the power of Cassandra as the primary database, supported by PostgreSQL and Redis for tasks requiring relational structures or instant access.

Regarding methodology, they avoid infinite sprints and circular meetings that could be an e-mail. They operate using Kanban and practice Continuous Delivery. Deployments go directly to production via Argo CD, based on the principle that risk management is a shared responsibility.

Everything built in Go communicates through gRPC and runs on Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring a rock-solid software lifecycle.

Furthermore, there is a non-negotiable commitment to observability and platform health: if a script breaks or web performance drops in an international market, an alert will pop up in Sentry or Grafana.

You won’t be making this journey alone. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team where collaboration is key. Your closest buddy in the day-to-day will be the Product Owner, with whom you’ll design solutions and translate business ideas into technical reality. You’ll also work closely with an Architect and the teams consuming your services to ensure every piece of Go fits perfectly into the global puzzle.

In your squad, you’ll find backend developers (Scala experts), frontend developers (React wizards), an Engineering Manager looking out for the team, and a Product Owner pointing the way.
