About The Role
## Description
## Purpose of Your Job Position
Reporting to the Dining Director, the Waitstaff serves meals to the residents of Arbor Rose in a timely, pleasant and professional manner, while maintaining a clean and orderly dining room and kitchen prep area. We have 2 part time and 1 full time position available. Full Time is benefit eligible and accrues Paid Time Off (PTO)
We have several on-line programs currently being used by our staff
- Shifthound is our on-line scheduling program. At the click of a button, you can request time off or request to pick up a shift. You can also send email/text notification to request coverage of an open shift.
- Relias is our on-line education program. Classes are assigned via email for you to complete in the allotted time at your own pace.
- Paylocity is our online payroll system. We are all direct deposit and you are able to view your check right online. In addition, we communicate to staff through this system.
## Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Dining Service
- Conduct pre-meal set up including but not limited to filling water pitchers, filling butter containers, placing linens and setting out dinnerware and utensils
- Explain menu selections to residents and/or guests so that they are fully aware of all the menu items that are available; understand and articulate knowledge of the ingredients used in preparing all dishes on the menu. Understand and explain all alternative menu choices available
- Take all food orders clearly and precisely
- Assure quality table service by utilizing proper service techniques, and exhibiting a cheerful, courteous and positive attitude while adapting to the various needs of each resident
- Time delivery of food from the kitchen and expedite food delivery to residents. Follow proper sequence of food delivery to insure food arrives to the table at the correct temperature
- Conduct post meal clean-up including but not limited to removing all dinnerware to kitchen, vacuuming dining room, and cleaning chairs.
- Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and adhere to the department uniform policy including the continuous wearing of an Arbor Rose authorized name tag.
- Responsible for promoting an environment that results in resident satisfaction by exhibiting a positive attitude and timely response to resident needs and requests.
- Follow department and Arbor Rose policies and procedures and federal, state and local laws and regulations, where applicable.
- All other duties as required and consistent with the education and skills required for this position.
- Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
- Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
- Obtain food supplies for next meal as directed.
## Qualifications
## Education
High School Diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
## Experience
Previous experience as a Waitstaff or in a food service environment desirable.
Previous experience working with the elderly and/or disabled in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.
