About The Role

## Description

The Dental Hygienist works as part of the dental provider team providing dental services to the patients of the Center. The Dental hygienist performs dental prophylactic services and provides educational information for the prevention and control of dental disease. Responsibilities and duties for a Dental Hygienist include:

Screening patients during checkups
Reviewing a patient’s dental history
Recommending care to improve a patient’s oral health
Teaching patients about proper teeth cleaning techniques
Performing preventive dental care
Applying fluoride treatments
Taking x-rays and reviewing them for signs of dental diseases

## Qualifications
**Education:** Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene
**Licensure:** Licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Texas
**Experience:** No previous experience required
**Expertise:** Basic techniques in Dental Hygiene. Ability to work with children and chronically ill
**Language:** English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
**Travel:** Occasionally; valid Texas drivers’ license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation
**Hours of Work:** 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.
