## Description
**Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM**
**Pay: Based on experience**
**Education level: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One to two months of related experience**
**SUMMARY:**
Responsible for overall management of the kitchen, including supervising staff, order of supplies, and preparation and serving of meals.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Essential duties include the following but are not considered an inclusive list.

  • Oversees and provides direction for classrooms as required by the state's environmental Prepares/serves high quality meals while assuring meals meet all specified guidelines.
  • Prepares/serves meals/snacks according to posted menu.
  • Assure menu items are posted.
  • Adheres to prescribed diets/medical food needs of clients.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and handles disciplinary matters for all Kitchen staff.
  • Research on new food items in order to reduce the percentage of processed foods being served.
  • Works with Program Administrator on all aspects of Kitchen operations.
  • Attends all required training.
  • Maintains Kitchen/storage to assure area is clean and organized at all times.
  • Ensures all machinery is always maintained in good working order.
  • Directs activities of all workers assisting in preparation/serving meals.
  • Approves all food purchases for Kitchen while remaining within budgetary restrictions.
  • Conducts quarter1y meetings with Kitchen staff.
  • Reviews/signs Kitchen staff timecards.
  • Approves Leave Requests for Kitchen staff and reports to Program Administrator if substitute is needed.
  • Coordinates catering events involving FPS Kitchen after approval obtained from Program Administrator.
  • Maintains all records as related to Special Nutrition Program.
  • Maintains attendance report for preschool and assures status of free/reduced/paid is reflected appropriately for each child.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

**QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE:** To adhere to the following and comply with all Quality Assurance’s & HIPAA procedures:

  • The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times.
  • Consumers’ progress notes be maintained and completed ***daily or as needed*** on the prescribed forms.
  • Consumers’ records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers’ records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.

## Qualifications

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:**

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:**

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); **or** one to three months related experience and/or training; **or** equivalent combination of education and experience.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS:**

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

**REASONING ABILITY:**

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
