Curtis is seeking a Daycare and Office Staff to join a team-oriented, inclusive, and professional learning community. Curtis School is a DK-6 co-ed elementary school whose mission is to “develop, in every child, a sound mind in a sound body, governed by a compassionate heart.” This is a non-exempt part-time position.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Auxiliary Manager for daycare and support the business office with filing and other needs. They will maintain a nurturing environment in the daycare, fostering young children's development and well-being. The candidate must enjoy working with children, be responsible, and communicate effectively with parents. Strong time-management, organizational, and communication skills are essential. The candidate should be empathetic, adaptable, and open to feedback, with a collegial personality and responsiveness to direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to

  • Working collaboratively with the after-school team to maintain a safe after-school program.
  • Supervision of students who stay for extension classes/daycare program
  • Help conduct 4 pm and 4:30pm student dismissals
  • Pass out snacks
  • Checking in/Checking out students
  • Answering school phone calls after receptionist leaves for the day
  • Organize equipment cart and make it available daily for the students
  • Help the business office as needed, filing, stocking, etc.

## Qualifications

Qualifications

A successful candidate will

  • Have experience working with elementary school-aged children (preferably in a educational setting)
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both adults and children
  • Have a flexible attitude with the ability to multitask
  • Must be available to work between the hours of 2:00pm - 5:30pm (and sometimes later than 5:30pm when students have not been picked up)
  • Understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in education

Salary

The anticipated hourly rate the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $18 to $23, depending on factors such as years of experience.
