**Job Summary:**

The **Engineer VI - Engineering Manager** applies a **thorough knowledge** of current engineering principles and practices across various aspects affecting the organization. This role utilizes expertise acquired through **progressive experience** to address **crucial issues** and **unique conditions**. The Engineer VI - Engineering Manager stays informed about **new methods** and **developments**, recommending **new practices** or changes in program emphasis while managing **programs of limited complexity and scope**.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**

  • **Lead Technical Discipline Team:** Manage and guide a **technical discipline team** within the organization.
  • **Technical Specialist:** Serve as the **technical specialist** in applying **advanced concepts, principles**, and **methods** in an assigned area.
  • **Stay Informed:** Keep up-to-date with **new developments** and **requirements**, recommending **changes in programs** or applications.
  • **Project Coordination:** **Interpret, organize, execute**, and **coordinate assignments**.
  • **Additional Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.

## Qualifications
**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:**

  • Proficiency with **electronic communication** including **e-mail** and **text**, as well as **standard office applications** (e.g., **Microsoft Office Suite**).
  • Possess **advanced oral** and **written communication skills**.
  • **Represent** the organization and maintain **liaison** with individuals and related organizations.

**Required Education and Experience:**

  • **Bachelor’s degree** in engineering from an **ABET/EAC accredited program**.
  • **10+ years** of prior experience required.

**Preferred Education and Experience:**

  • **Master’s degree** or equivalent.
  • Engaged in **life-long learning** to maintain knowledge of **contemporary issues**.

**Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:**

  • **Professional Engineer (PE)**.
  • Member of a **professional practice organization**, **national board member** or officer, or **national technical** or **policy committee member**.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**

  • **Supervise** a staff of **engineers** and **designers**.
  • **Plan, schedule**, and **coordinate** the preparation of documents or activities for **multiple major projects**, or oversee an **entire program** of the organization.
  • **Review operational procedures** to ensure **compliance** with applicable policies and **performance measures**.
