Definition

Performs a variety of tasks in ground and building maintenance at facilities of the school system to enhance appearance. Work involves the responsibility for safe efficient operation and maintenance of motorized equipment such as backhoes, mowers, edgers, and other types of power equipment. Employee must exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties. Employees in this class perform independent tasks in maintenance functions such as replacing glass and windows, replacing tile, making minor carpentry repairs, or providing equipment operation or manual labor for landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks.
