**About the Role:** The Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students. This position involves collaborating with lead teachers to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and well-being. This position will work with 1.5 – 2.5-year-old children atour **brand-new, purpose-built facility in Cape Elizabeth**, located at **8 Two Lights Road** (on the campus of St. Bartholomew’s Church). The space includes:
- Indoor gross motor play space
- Classrooms and outdoor playgrounds tailored to each age group
- A bright, modern environment that reflects our commitment to child-centered learning

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist lead teachers in preparing and implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and organized learning environment.
- Provide individualized attention to students, addressing their unique learning needs and challenges.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to lead teachers as necessary.
- Engage with students in various activities, fostering their social and emotional development.

**Pay Range:** $17.50 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and education

## Qualifications
**Qualifications:**
- Shall have a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent. A 2 year degree is preferred. Note: An option of actively participating in a CDA certification program exists, but prior approval by the Director is needed.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the Early Childhood field
- Must be willing to maintain CPR and First Aide Certification.
