**Responsibilities:**

  • Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies using appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before and after sterilization processes.
  • Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to anticipate instrument needs and ensure timely availability.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
  • Participate in training and education programs to stay current with sterilization techniques and best practices.

**Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
  • Previous experience in sterile processing or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of patient information and sensitive materials.
