The **Youth Development Center Teacher** provides care and early childhood education for infant, toddler or preschool children, ages 0-5, in a licensed childcare & preschool center environment.

• Be a role model.
• Develop and lead implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans appropriate for age group.
• Supervise the children, classroom, and Teaching Assistants assigned to the classroom.
• Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures.
• Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
• Conduct student assessments and parent-teacher conferences.
• Help assure a clean and well-organized classroom and equipment.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies.
• Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings.

**Full Time Shifts Available, Monday-Friday:**

• **7:00 am-3:30 pm**
• **7:00 am-4:00 pm**

## Qualifications

**We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility**. Requires a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification or the ability to obtain certification within a specified time-frame. *The YMCA offers a CDA Certification training program, including financial assistance.* A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field preferred. Previous experience working in an early childhood setting preferred. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc. CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA.
