Job Title: Head Gravity Bike Coach/Technician

- FLSA Status: Salary - Exempt
- Academy Status: Full Time/10 month plus 3 summer camps
- Salary Range: $35,000 - $50,000 per year commensurate with experience
Job Summary Primary
The Head Gravity Coach/Technician is responsible for overseeing the Competition Gravity program, including Gravity practice, training, competition, and student-athlete recruitment. The position will report directly to the Dean of Athletics. The Head Gravity Coach/Technician works in conjunction with the Assistant Gravity Coach to plan all on-course and off-the-bike sessions. The Head Gravity Coach/Technician is also responsible for competition planning and home competition planning and execution. The position will also be responsible for coordinating with the Varsity Mountain Biking Director for overall use of trails, vehicles, and equipment.
The Head Gravity Coach/Technician will develop year-round training and competition schedules to deliver a top-notch training and development program emphasizing technical skill development, riding, competition, and execution, including transportation, lodging, bike tuning, and athlete supervision.
Head Gravity Coach/Technician will be responsible for overall maintenance and repairs of the Gravity program athletes and will support the varsity Mountain Bike program. This will include maintaining tools and inventory.
The Head Gravity Coach/Technician will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain athletes and coaches and will work in partnership with the Dean of Athletics and the Dean of Admissions on recruitment strategies. Gravity Camps and Competitions should be viewed as opportunities to recruit future Gould students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coach
- Coaches Gravity athletes.
- Prepares training venue and equipment maintenance.
- Manages athlete transportation for daily training and events.
- Assists athletes with gear selection and maintenance.
- Coach three Gould summer bike camps.
- Communicates with athletes, parents, and faculty.
- Participates in professional development clinics/training.
- Additional winter coaching duties
Technician
- Examines bicycles and identifies parts that may need repair, replacement, or modification.
- Installs, repairs, and replaces various equipment and accessories.
- Adjusts components according to rider specifications.
- Aligns the wheels of bicycles.
- Repairs, modifies, or replaces faulty parts.
- Builds or assembles new bicycles.
Travel Protocol / Camps / Overnight Trips
- 24 hr supervisory duties to include downtime, warm-up and cool-down training, supervised study hall, equipment maintenance, and nutritional health and sleep habits.
- Driving vans pulling trailers
