## ***JOB SUMMARY***

The Jannetides College of Business, Communication and Leadership, invites applications for a full-time professor of Digital Design to serve in the Communication, Art and Design department. The position is full-time for a 12-month academic year beginning August 1, 2026. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will support the Digital Design program. Applicants must be committed to teaching in traditional classrooms, online, and hybrid delivery formats. This is an on-campus faculty position located at our Lakeland campus. An earned MFA in the field is required. Duties will include teaching undergraduate and master level courses, service on committees as assigned by the Chair or Dean, student advising, mentoring, and service to the community and academic profession

Salary and Rank: Commensurate with experience.

Starting Date: The appointment carries a full-time, one year contract from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

***ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS***

*Reports to the Dean, Jannetides College of Business, Communication, and Leadership.*

*Supervisory Responsibility:*May supervise some graduate assistants, teaching assistants or other student employees.

***ESSENTIAL DUTIES -****May include, but is not limited to the following:*

  • Teach face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Serve on department and university committees.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
  • Perform additional duties and functions as assigned by the Chair or Dean.

***ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES***

All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

## Qualifications
***EDUCATION***
**Required Education:**
An earned MFA in Digital Design or a related field.
**Preferred Education:**
Doctorate in Digital Design or a related field.
***LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS***

Industry Certifications

  • ***EXPERIENCE (Teaching or Industry)***
  • **Required:**
  • Teaching excellence in higher education.
  • Demonstrated graphic design experience.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative suite software.
  • Practice in user experience (UX) design and research, including web design, app design, agile methodologies, and human-centered design methods.

**Preferred:**

  • 3 years of experience.
  • ***KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES***

  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks and documentation.

Knowledge

  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Academic Processes - Knowledge of university guidelines, course descriptions, and academic terminology.
  • Clerical - Knowledge of office administrative procedures including word processing, managing files and records, typing, and other office procedures.
  • Computer - Knowledge of basic computer processes including word processing, web browsing, Google enterprise software (Google docs, Google sheets, etc.), and Microsoft Office including Basic Microsoft Excel.

  • Critical Thinking - Uses logic and reasoning to look at different types of information in order to make conclusions and work through problems.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

## ***WORK ENVIRONMENT***
All employees are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, harassment, including sexual harassment.

  • This position is considered non-essential for the purposes of Emergency Response.

## **Physical Requirements:**
Must be able to sit, stand and operate a computer for extended periods of time.

## **Schedule:**

Monday - Friday, 40hrs per week

Additional weekend hours maybe required as needed

## ***TRAINING***

All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated.
