## Description

Youth For Tomorrow is a 501 (c) (3) and a faith based, non-profit organization, founded in 1986 by Hall of Fame Football Coach Joe Gibbs. The organization is large, diverse, experienced and committed to serving at-risk youth.

**Salary Range: $60,000 - $63,000**

**Role and Responsibilities**

  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology to teach required material to students.
  • Serve as a substitute teacher as requested by the school Principal on an as needed basis.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records for students.
  • Monitor and assist students enrolled in online courses.
  • Provide healthy and appropriate role modeling, being careful to avoid continually singling out a student.
  • Work closely with the School Principal along with other YFT staff to ensure the Education program remains successful.
  • Keep fellow Teachers, House Parents, Therapists, and Case Managers informed of students progress and specific areas of concentration for each student.
  • Assist in monitoring and supervising of lunch period(s) during an academic day as requested.
  • Assist with direct supervision of student(s) at all times during the school day.
  • Present pertinent information (positive and/or negative) as required for the weekly Evaluation Team Meeting.
  • Attendance at all training mandated by YFT and respective governing entity to include but not limited to maintaining current CPR/First Aid certification, Handle with Care certification, and annual TB test/screening.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO or supervisor.
  • All duties and responsibilities will support meeting the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards (DBHDS: 12VAC 35-46-800; DSS: 22 VAC 40-151-720).

**Required Trainings: *All trainings required by YFT, Licensing and Governmental Agencies.***
## Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and at minimum hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Have two years of work experience with children or completed two years of coursework in related field
  • Possess skills and abilities to positively interact with students, maintain discipline, and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Ability to maintain all required documentation.
  • Effectively challenge, nurture and develop the educational abilities of at-risk youth in a residential setting.
  • Work under the supervision of qualified professional staff
