**Position Summary:** The Donation Sorter is responsible for receiving, sorting, organizing, and inspecting all donations. They will provide excellent customer service to Wheeler Mission’s donors and show care and respect to all donations received.
## Qualifications
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

**Key Area:** Customer Service
- Greet customers for donation drop-off and assist with the unloading of donations.
- Provide instructions for tax forms.
- Offer assistance to donors as needed.
**Key Area:**Sorting and Handling
- Inspect, sort, handle, and label donations for sale at the Thrift Store.
- Operate pallet jacks or forklifts to move donations within the warehouse.
**Key Area:**Team Collaboration
- Work effectively in a team environment with coworkers and volunteer groups.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse by following instructions given by managers and collaborating with team members.
**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:**
## This position has no directreports but may occasionally supervise groups of volunteers.

| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |
| **Education/Experience:** - High school diploma, GED, or HSE - Verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with others. |

| **Technical/Software Knowledge:** - Ability to learn how to manage time in payroll software |

**Work Environment and Physical Requirements:** To perform the essential job functions of this position, with reasonable accommodations, a candidate must be able to:
- Stand for long periods of time
- Kneel, stoop, twist, and bend-over frequently during the shift
- Hold and grasp donated objects when loading and unloading donations.
- Physical ability to perform normal office functions including sitting for prolonged periods of time and the endurance to remain standing for prolonged periods of time
- Frequently lift and move donations up to 20 pounds.
- Work in a warehouse environment that may expose workers to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and dirt.
- Perform manual labor indoors and outdoors.
