## **Overview**

The Safety Manager partners with executive leadership, operations teams, field supervision, and project teams to promote a strong culture of safety across the organization. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting safety programs that ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations while serving as a trusted resource, coach, and subject matter expert for employees and subcontractors.

## **What You'll Do**

  • Develop, maintain, and improve company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards across all jobsites and operations.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to develop site-specific safety plans and safe work practices.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and safety observations, and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Lead safety training programs, including OSHA, fall protection, scaffolding, CPR/First Aid, rigging and signaling, excavation, and other required training.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire safety orientations and support employee safety development.
  • Review subcontractor safety programs and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Ensure safety documentation, JSAs, toolbox talks, SDS information, and related records are accurate and up to date.
  • Represent Miles McClellan during OSHA inspections and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Participate in project planning, preconstruction meetings, and safety committee activities.
  • Monitor safety performance trends and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Travel to jobsites as needed to support field teams and evaluate safety performance.

## Qualifications
## **What We're Looking For**

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of two years of construction safety experience or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
  • OSHA 500 certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and risk management principles.
  • Ability to identify hazards, evaluate risk, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience conducting safety training, jobsite inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly and safely navigate active construction sites.
