We’re seeking a **Sr. Cost Accountant** to join our team. This role is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting manufacturing costs to support operational and financial decision-making. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Senior Cost Accountant plays a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving financial controls, and driving operational efficiency.
**What you will be doing:**
- Analyze standard costs, inventory transactions, and manufacturing variances to ensure accurate product costing and financial reporting.
- Perform month-end close activities, including cost allocations, inventory reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain cost, inventory, margin, and profitability reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by providing cost analysis and manufacturing insights.
- Coordinate and support cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit requirements while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and efficiencies across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Review bills of materials (BOMs), labor routings, and overhead rates to maintain accurate standard costs.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to evaluate performance, improve cost visibility, and drive profitability initiatives.
- Assist with capital project analysis, inventory management initiatives, and other ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
## Qualifications
**Required Education and Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Effective communicator able to work across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
