Job Purpose

• The Personal Care Assistant at LIFECARE ALLIANCE is responsible for performing personal care and homemaker services based on a nurse’s assessment of the client’s needs. This position also involves providing respite and private duty care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients in various settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide assistance with oral hygiene, denture care, skin care, foot and nail care to maintain the client's health and comfort.
• Accurately take and record vital signs, ensuring precise documentation for the healthcare team.
• Offer social interaction and emotional support to clients and/or caregivers, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
• Utilize mature judgment in all interactions and decisions, maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information, ensuring privacy and trust.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Use proper body mechanics to lift, transfer, and move clients safely, promoting both client and personal safety.

## Qualifications

Required Education

• Current STNA certification

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of in-home care experience, either in private duty or in a facility setting

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift, transfer, and move clients using proper body mechanics
• Ability to use mature judgment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively
• Proficiency in assisting clients with personal hygiene, including oral hygiene, denture care, skin care, foot and nail care
• Competence in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Capability to provide social interaction and emotional support to clients and/or caregivers
