Lube Technician

## Description

Summary/Objective

A Hertz Lube Technician is in charge for maintaining vehicles, oil changes and tire rotation. They check the vehicle’s fluid and do general repairs if needed. Lube Technician also check the status of air filters, tires and break fluids.

Essential Functions

1. Performs the routine check-up and maintenance of vehicles.
2. Works closely with Lead Lube Technicians to update Hertz records and suggests recommendations or additional services regarding a vehicles’ service needs to the Lead Lube Technicians or Fleet Manager.
3. Inspects fluid levels and tire pressure of all vehicles.
4. Greases bearings, inspects the repairs and renovation of brake systems.
5. Uses different electronic tools to find and correct breakdown areas such as ignition and wheel bearings.
6. Responsible for tuning engines, repairing and maintaining different service components.
7. Answers to emergency road-side assistance calls and may have to work remotely should customers get stranded on Guam’s roads.
8. Maintains a clean and organized working environment.
9. Adheres to all company policy and procedures.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

## Qualifications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
2. Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills.
3. Ability to operate Hertz shop equipment.
4. Proven experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
5. Valid Driver’s License.
6. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is regularly performed in a motor shop environment. Work is regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, noise, heat, and outdoor elements.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move at least 50 lbs.

Position Type

• This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
• Standard days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent
2. Minimum one to three years of progressive experience.
3. ASE Certification a plus
