**POSITIONS SUPERVISED:** NA
**BASIC PURPOSE:**
To provide a high quality of education and care for young children.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

  1. Assist teachers in daily classroom supervision, including outdoor play activities using positive discipline techniques to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  2. Assist in the practice and documentation of monthly fire drills as needed.
  3. Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment, information for the daily program, taking daily attendance and lunch count including reports for CACFP.
  4. Using appropriate food handling, sanitation and OSHA procedures at all times.

**NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

  1. Participate in the arrangement of classroom materials and furniture to maingtain a developmentally appropriate and safe environment.
  2. Perform other related duties as required.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**

Early childhoodclassroom, possible on 2nd floor without handicapped access. Works with children with communicable deseases. Outdoor playground.

## Qualifications

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

**EDUCATION:** High School Diploma or Equivalent

**EXPERIENCE:** Previous experience working with young children. If a Substitute does not meet the requirements TEAM, Inc. will provide appropriate Substitute Teacher training and participants in this program will be considered qualified.

**SPECIAL SKILLS:** Knowledge of early childhood education, Warm and nurturing personality, Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**: Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, to occasionally lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds, the use of arms, hands, legs, and feet with or without corrective devices to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies. Ability to kneel, bend and sit while interacting with children at floor level.

**PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:** Ability to function within guidelines of Agency’s core values, identification with Agency mission, ability to build consensus and motivate employees.
